A Heritage of Quality

1924 - Founder, J.K. Bedrosian opened his first location in Summit, New Jersey. He began selling, cleaning and restoring hand-woven orientals rugs and carpets. The Bedrosian business grew and sustained his family during the Great Depression.

1935 - Bedrosian's introduced wall-to-wall broadloom carpeting to their product line. In those days only a few colors were available.

1953 - The second generation begins. JK's youngest son Hratch joined the business in 1953 and worked side by side with his father. Hratch and his father worked together in the Summit Location for more than 20 years. In 1973 with nearly 50 years of service, JK retired leaving his business legacy with his son. He enjoying several years of retirement until his passing in 1975.

1975 - The third generation begins. Hratch's eldest son Craig was the first to join the business. He began by learning carpet sales and installation skills from his father. And soon learned all aspects of the business.

1982 - Mark, the second of Hratch's sons and John, the youngest son both joined the business that year. Mark considered an expert in the field of antique and collectible rugs, joins the company and learns the finer points of inventory purchasing and management from his father. John begins learning management skills in the rug and carpet services division and the fine art of oriental rug weaving and restoration from his father.

1986 - The Summit showroom moves to a larger location in town with onsite client parking.

1987 - Cleaning and Service division expands to a larger location in Berkeley Heights to accomodate the growing needs of its customers.

1998 - Cleaning and Service division moves to the current location in Berkeley Heights. Here, the latest technology is coupled with Bedrosian's longstanding commitment to quality and care.

2000 - New Morristown-Harding showroom opens to service Morris and Somerset Counties. The 10,000 sqft. showroom offers an extensive collection of hand woven carpets both new and antique as well as full service wall to wall carpet department.

2002 - Hratch Bedrosian enjoyed many wonderful years working side by side with his three sons. With a career spanning nearly fifty years, Hratch remained active in the business until his passing in 2002. He will be greatly missed.

Present Day - JK and Hratch's legacies live on. Today Craig, Mark and John and there dedicated staff are committed to providing the finest quality service to there clients.
